Inter fans have been quick to respond to strong reports linking them with Folarin Balogun this summer.
The 22-year-old Arsenal star appears to be on his way out of the club having played a bit-part role in pre-season, missing the past two matches with injury and fitness worries.
Having impressed in Ligue 1 for Stade de Reims last season, Balogun is now looking to continue his development as his stock rises across the board having also made an immediate impression for USMNT since confirming his allegiance earlier this year.
Now, with Mikel Arteta also adding attackers to the squad, Balogun has a serious fight to gain consistent gametime. When asked during the tour of America how he can get himself into first team reckonning, the head coach gave very little away. «We will see., first of all, he needs to be fit and play minutes,» Arteta said.
Arsenal only have matches against Monaco and Manchester City to go before they get the Premier League back underway against Nottingham Forest on August 12. After that there are two more matches, Crystal Palace away and Fulham at home, before the summer window ends and Balogun's future is decided once and for all.
In a bid to stop a late summer scramble, Inter have made their move early. Reports in Italy suggest a loan offer has been made with an obligation to buy worth around £30million ($38m) with a £5million ($6.4m) season-long fee as well. That has been rejected but Balogun still remains the priority and top target.
