Rio Ferdinand probably doesn’t fly with Ryanair very often, and it’s likely he won’t bother again.
The Manchester United legend was travelling to Porto for his TNT Champions League duties, and made a worrying discovery on the plane.
As soon as he got on the budget airline plane, he was surrounded by Arsenal fans, whose team take on the Portuguese side in the first leg of their last 16 tie.
It didn’t take long for the Gunners fans on board to recognise Ferdinand, and he tried to tuck himself away at the front of the plane.
The timing couldn’t be much worse either, with Ferdinand copping plenty of heat for his take on their megastar academy graduate, Bukayo Saka.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former defender said: “Phil Foden has to be considered world class before Bukayo Saka right now.
“Phil Foden has played Champions League for six years, and when we’re talking about world class players, a good spell in the most elite competition on Earth doesn’t equate to being world class.
“He’s doing remarkably well, the last two years at Arsenal his stats are off the charts, doing well, unbelievable.”
When asked if Saka is on the level of world class talents Vinicius Jr and Mohamed Salah, Ferdinand answered: “No. Not yet.”
The Arsenal fans on board has clearly seen the clip, and filmed themselves chanting ‘Saka’s world class’ at the former England man.
Ferdinand, though, showing he’s a man of the people and used the plane's loudspeaker to show their were no hard feelings.
“Hello guys, I just wanted to say it’s been an absolute pleasure travelling with you Arsenal fans," which brought much laughter.
