Gabriel delivers update
The 25-year-old wrote on Instagram: “Only God knows how much I’ve waited for this moment!! So happy for the debut and the big win!! Come on Brazil."
There was no mention of an injury problem in his post on Instagram suggesting he should be fit upon his return to Arsenal next week. Brazil face Peru in their South American World Cup qualifying clash on Wednesday, September 13 - which will give Gunners fans' more of an idea as to whether Gabriel is injured or not depending on if he plays or is absent from the squad.
Pepe says goodbye
Nicolas Pepe has sent a farewell message to Arsenal supporters following confirmation of his exit. Having been a mainstay in the Arsenal squad in the first two years, Pepe's failure to adapt to English football saw him join OGC Nice on loan last season.
However, his return to France was short-lived with injuries preventing him from replicating the form that convinced the Gunners to sign him.
Following confirmation of his departure, Pepe took to Instagram to send a message to supporters. Sharing Arsenal's official post on the social media platform, Pepe wrote: "Gunners Fam *red heart* *salute emoji*."
Odegaard contract boost
Arsenal and Martin Odegaard will continue talks over a new long-term contract in the next weeks and months, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners skipper is set to be the latest star player to commit their futures to Mikel Arteta's side after Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba extended their stays this year.
