Arsenal stadium DJ, Peter Mujuzi, has already explained why he plays an iconic WWE entrance song at half-time of fixtures at the Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta's side emerge. The bizarre moment was spotted once again in the Gunners' 2-0 defeat against Liverpool as the north Londoners crashed out of the FA Cup.
The tradition of playing WWE legend Triple H's iconic entrance song — 'Motorhead — The Game' — has been ongoing for over five years, dating back to when Arsene Wenger was in charge at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners were trailing 2-1 against Manchester City at half-time, and were just about to emerge from the tunnel to make their way out onto the pitch for the second half when Mujuzi tried something new with his setlist.
For most of fans, it may not be recognisable, but for wrestling fans it was the unmistakable sounds of WWE superstar HHH’s entrance music. The decision to play the famous song at half-time took social media by storm.
«I never thought it would get this big,» Mujuzi told GOAL back in 2021. «I was just trying to freshen things up a bit.
»I'd been doing the music at the Emirates since the 2015-16 season, and over time it just became a bit repetitive in terms of some of the songs I was playing. So I just thought, as a wrestling fan, I would sneak in one of these theme tunes and see if anyone would take any notice. Now I can’t really believe the reaction to it."
It's become so iconic that even the WWE icon has responded to Mujuzi using his entrance song at the Emirates Stadium. «I’m very excited,» the 14-time world champion said, when asked about Arsenal using his music.
