Despite the transfer window in England closing just over a week ago, there's another deadline approaching for Arsenal; The Premier League squad registration deadline.
New names?
The Arsenal squad that is submitted this week will be very different from the one submitted after the January transfer window closed. For starters, it's safe to assume that at least three of the four summer signings - Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and David Raya - will all be included.
Furthermore, a rule change affects William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Now, last season they didn't have to be named in the 25-man squad because of their age (more on this later) but that is no longer the case as the trio must be registered in the Premier League squad in order to be eligible for the competition.
Who are the homegrown members?
To be considered homegrown, players need to have been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Welsh FA for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).
This means Aaron Ramsdale, Raya, Saliba, White, Emile Smith Rowe, Rice, Saka, Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are the 10 senior homegrown players - going off the club's official website - and they can all be registered with Arsenal still adhering to Premier League rules.
