Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger reveals N'Golo Kante transfer stance amid Bukayo Saka injury worry

Legendary former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lifted the lid on how he nearly signed N'Golo Kante before the Frenchman eventually joined Chelsea back in the summer of 2016.
“The others, I missed many great players, we missed (Cristiano) Ronaldo who was close to signing for us, Kante, you miss many players, that’s a part of any football club,” Wenger told the Seaman Says Podcast.
Venkatesham exit
Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham will be leaving the north London outfit in the summer of 2024, the club have confirmed.
Venkatesham has been the Gunners' chief executive since 2020, assuming the position after spending ten years in various other roles at the Emirates Stadium. The Oxford University graduate has decided to pursue a new challenge but, until his departure, he will continue his day-to-day job as normal.

Venkatesham told the club's official website: «This was a tough decision, but it is time to pursue another challenge. Now is not the time for goodbyes as I remain focused until my last day and supporting a seamless transition.»

Saka injury worry
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka continues to be nagged by an Achilles injury that dogged him last season, according to the Daily Mail.
It was slightly surprising to see the 22-year-old named on the bench for England's friendly against Scotland on Tuesday evening but it is claimed that his omission was down to an Achilles issue.
