Ashley Young reveals former Man Utd manager Sir Ferguson is SCARIER than Dyche
Ashley Young has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson is scarier than Sean Dyche and that he still terrifies him to this day.
The former Manchester United winger was signed by Ferguson back in 2011 from Aston Villa.
Young now plies his trade with Everton, managed by Sean Dyche. The 38-year-old signed for the Toffees on a free transfer this summer and has started every game for the club so far.
Dyche has been notoriously known for his strict and old-school coaching over the years. However, it would appear that no one comes close to Ferguson, according to Young.
Young, who has 39 caps for England, spent two years with Ferguson before the he retired in 2013.
The Englishman revealed what it's like working with both coaches.
In a conversation with Alan Brazil and Gabriel Agbonlahor, Young was asked: 'Who's scarier, Fergie or Dychey?'
Young replied: 'The boss, I'd say. I can't even call him Fergie because he is still the boss.
'I said to someone the other day when he rings your phone and you see the boss ringing you…
'It's like, turn the music down, you're still scared of him when you're answering. Even now!'
During his time with the Red Devils, Young won one Premier League, an FA Cup, a Carabao Cup and a Europa League.
The winger-turned-fullback left Old Trafford in 2020 to sign for Serie A giants Inter Milan.
He spent one season in Serie A before heading back to England to sign for Aston Villa. The defender spent two years at Villa Park before joining the Toffees back in July ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
Everton have endured a tough start to the new season and have only picked up one point from their opening four games - a 1-1 draw away to Sheffield United before the international break.
