Bayern Munich to reignite Trevoh Chalobah interest in January?
The German champions experienced a forgettable final day of the summer transfer window after they failed to finalise deals for Chalobah and Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.
The Bavarians were keen to sign Chalobah following the departure of Benjamin Pavard, who completed a move to Italian giants Inter Milan.
Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel was hoping to reunite with the player he once managed at Chelsea, but Bayern ultimately ran out of time to complete the deal.
Nottingham Forest were also interested in signing the 24-year-old and submitted a £25m bid in the final stages of the transfer window.
However, Chalobah was reluctant to join the East Midlands club, ensuring he remained at Stamford Bridge when the transfer window slammed shut.
Despite failing in their attempts to sign Chalobah in the summer, Bayern could revisit the deal when the window reopens in January.
Journalist Ben Jacobs said: «Trevoh Chalobah wanted the move to Bayern, but the German window closed a few hours earlier on September 1 and no agreement was reached.
»Bayern preferred a loan. Chalobah could have gone to Nottingham Forest but wasn't keen. I don't see him getting many Chelsea minutes and it wouldn't surprise me if Bayern come back in with a loan offer in January."
While Bayern would prefer a loan move, Chelsea are reportedly open to a permanent sale and are understood to be looking for a £50m fee.
Chalobah has not featured this season due to an injury issue, but he may find it difficult to force his way into the side when he returns to full fitness.
