Ballymena United 0 Cliftonville 2
Ben Wilson scored a double for Cliftonville against Ballymena United
Ben Wilson hit a delightful double as Cliftonville cruised to victory over ailing Ballymena United at the Showgrounds.
Jim Ervin’s Sky Blues have now only one win in nine League starts.
The Reds required merely 19 minutes to forge into the lead. Chris Gallagher picked the pocket of United new boy Dylan Boyle, who was making his debut after signing from Fleetwood Town, before finding Rory Hale.
The Reds skipper slipped a sublime ball to Wilson, whose finish was ruthless, drilling low under the body of Sean O’Neill.
Wilson was presented with a similar opportunity on 27 minutes, courtesy of Sam Ashford’s pass, but this time O’Neill managed to stick out a leg to save.
But the former Brighton man struck again with 16 minutes remaining, finishing sweetly after being sent through the middle again by the impressive Hale.
