Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has sent another message to Everton after their win over Liverpool.
The Blues claimed a memorable 2-0 win over the Reds in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night. Jarrad Branthwaite opened the scoring in the first half for Everton, before Dominic Calvert-Lewin sealed the victory at Goodison Park.
It was the first time that Everton had won a home derby match against Liverpool since October 2010. The victory moved the Blues a step closer to confirming their Premier League status and avoiding relegation in the process.
Hours after the win, Armstrong posted a video offering his congratulations to Everton. The 52-year-old, who is the lead singer of punk rock band Green Day, is currently preparing to embark on a world tour for the group's album 'Saviors' which heads to the UK this summer.
