Aarons was forced off in the latter stages of Sunday's 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, leaving his side to complete the remainder of the contest with 10 men as Iraola had already used five substitutes.
The 24-year-old is now set for a spell on the sidelines after it was confirmed he sustained a hamstring injury for the second time this season.
Aarons previously spent time in the treatment room with a hamstring issue on the opposite leg, before he returned to full fitness at the end of December.
Speaking ahead of Thursday's FA Cup clash with Swansea City, Iraola confirmed Aarons has joined an injury list that contains fellow full-backs, Adam Smith and Ryan Fredericks.
Iraola told reporters: «It is especially the full-back department, I would say. Apart from Tyler Adams, it is all full-backs.
»Max is obviously out. He has a muscle injury. He will be out for some time. I don't know how long it will take, but you have a lot of references with these kind of hamstring injuries. I don't want to say an exact date.
While Iraola is having to cope with a number of absentees, he is hoping to have left-back Milos Kerkez available for the fourth-round tie.
The Hungary international is closing in on a return to fitness after missing the club's last five matches due to injury.
