The top walking trails and hikes in the UK have been revealed - and one starts just 40 minutes away from Liverpool.
The UK is home to some of the most beautiful coastlines, green spaces and cityscapes. But it's no secret that some walking spots are that little bit better than the rest.
Now the top eight have been confirmed by Betfair Bingo, who have scored the destinations based on figures from Google rating, Tripadvisor reviews, and Instagram hashtags and views. Edinburgh’s Arthur’s Seat came out as the firm favourite, however, Wales Coastal Path which starts in Chester is third on the list.

Wales Coast Path, or Llwybr Arfordir Cymru in Welsh, boasts 870 miles of unspoilt, coastal walking. The path makes Wales the only country in the world with a continuous waymarked path around its entire coast.
It starts from Chester, a 40 minute drive from Liverpool, before going onto Bangor, through Anglesay, Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia and Ceredigion Coast, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthen Bay and South Wales. Coming in second place is another Scottish pick, the Glenfinnan Viaduct.
The railway viaduct sits on the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan, Inverness-shire, Scotland, and was built back in 1897. For train enthusiasts, the Jacobite steam train still runs from here to Fort William and Mallaig in the summer.
However closer to the North West, there is also Aber Falls, a waterfall located about two miles south of the village of Abergwyngregyn, Gwynedd, Wales and Buttermere Valley, in the Lake District.
