Jet2 will begin flying from Liverpool John Lennon Airport today as the inaugural flight takes off this morning.
Liverpool becomes Jet2's 11th UK airport when the first flight departs today, March 28. Last May, it was announced that the airline and holiday provider would start operating services from the airport in March 2024, with 20 destinations on offer - seven being exclusive to Jet2, bringing new routes to the city.
Jet2 has also since confirmed it will also take travellers to European Christmas markets from Liverpool for the first time ever, with flights and city breaks, including Krakow and Prague, going on sale for Winter 2024. The latest expansion means a total of 25 routes are now on sale with Jet2 from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The arrival of Jet2 and Jet2holidays is expected to bring an additional 500,000 passengers through the airport, which means the airport is planning for its busiest summer since the Covid pandemic. The first Jet2 flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport departs at 8am and is heading to sunny Tenerife.
As the inaugural flight takes off this morning, we'll be bringing you live updates from Jet2's Liverpool launch.
