Brentford boss Thomas Frank responds to Everton points deduction decision after West Ham loss

David Moyes is feeling positive now that West Ham are out of a rough patch after they finally secured a victory against London rivals Brentford with a 4-2 win on Monday night. It was an evening of many firsts, with Jarrod Bowen bagging his career's first hat-trick leading the team to register their first win in eight games this year.

This was also Bowen's first goal since last Christmas and he became the first player from West Ham to score a hat trick at London Stadium. With this crucial triumph — despite much chatter around their fleeting form and Moyes' future — the Hammers find themselves back in the battle for a European spot, sitting eighth in the table.

«Most teams have difficult periods in the Premier League,» Moyes said. «Manchester City have, Liverpool have, so West Ham are certainly going to be no different,» Moyes said. The game saw Bowen net two goals in the first seven minutes, followed by a quick Neal Maupay response for Brentford.

Bowen grabbed his third halfway through the second half before Emerson Palmieri rifled home a fabulous 20-yard strike and Yoane Wissa scored another one for the Bees. «I'm really pleased for Jarrod, his performances have gone unnoticed as we've not been playing well,» Moyes added.

«Tonight it happened for him, his all-round play, the way he was working, he was a threat all night and hopefully the goals will get him back in (England manager) Gareth (Southgate's) thinking.» «If you can play wide and you're a goalscorer you will be of interest to the international manager.»

Maupay, meanwhile, was seen having a heated discussion with Hammers coach Kevin Nolan as the teams came back out of the tunnel for the second half. «I actually didn't know who the row was with, I thought maybe it was
