Brighton & Hove Albion CEO Paul Barber has admitted that there is 'no guarantee' that Roberto De Zerbi will remain as the club's head coach amid links to Liverpool.
De Zerbi has been one of the most impressive managers since replacing Graham Potter at the AMEX Stadium in 2022. He led the Seagulls to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season, achieving European football for the first time in the club's history.
The Italian has emerged as a likely candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield in the summer. De Zerbi, Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim have all been linked with the vacancy, though no replacement has been identified yet.

As well as links to Liverpool, De Zerbi has also emerged as a possible candidate to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. However, according to the Telegraph, it would cost a club a hefty £12million in compensation to take the Italian from the Amex.
Brighton recently announced a British record revenue profit of £122.8m for the 2022/23 season. A large portion of that figure came through player sales and the exit of Potter and his coaching staff to Chelsea.
Now, Barber has revealed that there are no guarantees that De Zerbi will stay at the club for the 2024/25 season. Speaking on TNT Sports prior to the goalless draw with Brentford, he said: “Every time that you do well in the Premier League, expectations go up, not just from your fans but also from your coaches, players and staff. It’s a challenge to make sure you can meet those expectations but it’s something we intend to try.
