The quick-thinking of a British nanny has been hailed following a car crash which involved three of Harry Kane's children in Germany.
Bayern Munich and England star Kane was touching down in London when three of his children - Louis, three, Vivienne, five, and Ivy, seven - were in a Mercedes van that collided with a Renault near Schaftlarn, south of Munich, on Monday evening.
Officers are said to be viewing it as an accident, and the young Renault driver could receive a fine of just £100, despite nine people being involved, following the incredible reactions of the Mercedes driver.
A source told The Sun: 'The Kane’s nanny did an incredible job of protecting the children.
'None of this is her fault. She might be on German roads, but she had right-of-way. It was the German driver who cut across her path and smashed into her.
'She would only have had milliseconds to react.
'You can see from the pictures it was a serious smash, but the Kane children would have felt nothing other than a bang. She really has averted disaster.'
However, the Renault driver at the centre of the crash could receive just a small fine for her role in the drama.
A source told The Sun: 'If anyone was injured the driver could be prosecuted for negligent assault.
'But incredibly, everyone was unharmed - so she will likely just get a fixed penalty notice and claims against her insurance.
'She must have been stunned when she found out she smashed into the Bayern star’s car.'
A spokesman for Kane told Mail Sport: 'There was a crash, but the kids are fine, and none were injured.
'No injuries at all. They went to hospital for a routine check-up.'
Kane's wife Kate and fourth child Henry were not believed to have been in the van.
