Simon Jordan has questioned Chelsea fans who want to see Jose Mourinho replace Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.
Supporters were heard chanting for the legendary Portuguese manager to take over during the Blues' recent 2-2 draw at Brentford. Mourinho enjoyed two trophy-laden spells at the West London club, winning eight major honours between 2004 and 2007 as well as between 2013 and 2016.
The 61-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Italian Serie A side Roma in January. He has been linked with a potential third spell at Chelsea amid the club's struggles this season under Pochettino.
However, football.london understands that Chelsea's plan remains to review the Argentine and his situation at the end of the current season. The Blues are currently 11th in the table but are four points off the final guaranteed European qualification spots.
And whilst former Crystal Palace owner Jordan admits Pochettino has not done «the greatest of jobs» at Chelsea so far, he has questioned any assertion that the current version of Mourinho would improve results.
«I think Chelsea probably [needed] the win more than Newcastle, because there is a growing dissatisfaction with Pochettino. I don't quite understand the argument that you want to bring Jose Mourinho back,» he told talkSPORT beforethe Blues' 3-2 win over Newcastle on Monday.
