Chelsea head coachMauricio Pochettino failed to hide his frustrations after his side failed to defeat ten-man Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues were pegged back on two occasions against the relegation-threatened Clarets despite Lorenz Assignon being sent off in the first-half. Cole Palmer scored his 17th and 18th goals of the 2023/24 season for Pochettino's side but it wasn't enough.
Burnley, who had manager Vincent Kompany sent off, rescued a point in the 81st minute only moments after Palmer had made it 2-1. Raheem Sterling squandered a huge chance in the latter stages of the contest as Pochettino's side remain 11th in the Premier League.
Chelsea registered a whopping 33 shots against Burnley, enjoying 69% of the possession against ten men. However, they wasted a number of big opportunities to leave Pochettino frustrated.
«Agreed [two points dropped]. Very disappointed in the way that in the second-half we managed or dealt with the situation,» the Argentine said. «We are a team that, when we play in possession and play forward, we are able to create too many chances, maybe not to score all the chances we create.
