Chelsea news - EAFC ratings have been revealed and a few of the Chelsea players aren't particularly happy with them
The popular video game franchise is moving away from its previous title of 'FIFA', which began in 1994 by the developers EA Sports. The installments came out yearly and while they had popular acclaim through the late 1990s into the early 2000s, it would find a new boom in years to come.
The introduction of the internet and video sharing platforms such as YouTube helped push FIFA to new heights through the 2010s and it became a huge franchise. Things have changed heading into this year's release, though, as FIFA's naming rights are no longer part of the product.
It came after a disagreement over the fees for the licensing that eventually saw the two parties part ways and a new name had to be devised. EA Sports FC was decided on with the new addition coming in late September, building on the gameplay of FIFA 23, while FIFA themselves are pairing with a new developer for a 2024 release of their own game.
In the meantime though, fans of the series have been gearing up for the release that includes reveals of ratings used in the popular game mode "Ultimate Team". It's a mode that allows players to build a team using player cards that can be used in game to play against others.
"I think that obviously offensively I can improve because I didn't get a single goal last year. This year I think I can improve my attacking because defensively I'm good."
