Former Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has opened up about his 'difficult time' at the club due to persistent injury problems.
The Guinea international signed for Liverpool in 2017 for £52.75m from RB Leipzig, eventually joining up with his new team-mates in England a year later as part of the clubs' agreement.
He would go on to win seven major honours on these shores, however was unable to play a consistent part in the collective effort of bringing those trophies back to Anfield due to injury troubles.

By the end of his five-year stay he had made only 129 appearances, scoring 11 goals and making seven assists, ultimately failing to progress into the midfielder taking over the No.8 mantle from Steven Gerrard many had hoped the then-young, Leipzig prodigy would become.
Leaving the Reds this summer at the end of his contract opened the door for a free transfer back to the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen. Unfortunately in pre-season the 28-year-old was hit with another injury again, though it provided time to reflect on his time with Liverpool.
Talking to BILD, he said: "I admit, it was a difficult time for me [at Liverpool]. I wanted to get started straight away and then this injury happened.
"I am very grateful that my family and especially my wife supported me a lot. My newborn daughter was also a big help. She is now six months old and a great asset in my life.
"It was clear to me that I was leaving Liverpool, and I could prepare myself to do something new."
