Chelsea have spent big to say the very least since American owner Todd Boehly stepped into the boardroom. His outlay — since last summer — is fast approaching the £1billion-mar as the Premier League giants make their move during the January transfer window.
A new striker remains the number one priority, but Chelsea are not alone in that particular market. Rivals including Arsenal and Manchester United are thought to be keen on strengthening their own attacking options — and prolific frontmen rarely come cheaply in any case.

Santiago Gimenez: Feyenoord got themselves a gem when picking up the Argentina-born Mexico international from CD Cruz Azul 18 months ago. Gimenez, 22, has repaid his €6million transfer fee already by scoring 44 goals in 68 matches for Feyenoord — as well as spearheading them to the Eredivisie title last season. Another step up will, surely, be on the cards at some stage. His current club have enough protection with Gimenez under contract until 2027, while mooted interest from Real Madrid will only ramp the price up further.
