Chelsea football star Enzo Fernandez has announced the birth of his new baby boy.
The 22-year-old Argentine World Cup winner and his partner Valentina Cervantes revealed they now have a son and even shared his name on Instagram as Benjamin. Breaking the news on social media, the midfielder posted a picture with the new-born and his daughter Olivia, saying: "Benjamin Fernandez, 26/10/23. I love you forever." Fans and other fellow footballers have rushed to congratulate Enzo and his partner, Chelsea FC even commented: "Congratulations Enzo" with a blue love heart emoji.
Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho said: "Congratulations brother." While a fan added: "What a great little brother! Very happy for you." And a fourth said: "The Chelsea family’s newest member." Meanwhile, Enzo Fernandez's partner Valentina took to Instagram to thank him for his support during the birth. She posted a photo of her holding the new-born in hospital, captioning it: "Thank you for accompanying me in the best way I love you." Enzo and his partner Valentina have been together in 2019. She then followed him from River Plate in their homeland to Portugal in 2022.
Their stay together in Benfica was short lived however, as Chelsea transferred him, and the rest of his family to London.
Just weeks after he helped Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar, he was bought by Chelsea for £107 million. He has since established himself as one of Mauricio Pochettino's go-to guys in midfield this season. Enzo Fernandez is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea squad as they face Brentford today.
