Chelsea chiefs Behdad Eghbali, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley were all spotted heading down the tunnel at full-time after Mauricio Pochettino's side bounced back from three straight league defeats with a 2-0 win over bottom-of-the-league Sheffield United.
Second-half goals from Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson made sure that all three points were being kept at Stamford Bridge as the Blues moved up to tenth with the win. While Palmer will go down as the goalscorer of the first, it was mostly Raheem Sterling's work down the right-hand-side of the Blades penalty area that created the opportunity.
A cool cross saw the England internationals link up once again, moving the 21-year-old up to nine goal involvements in just ten Chelsea starts so far this season. The latest of those then came for Jackson's goal which was as scrappy as it was much-needed for the Blues to feel comfortable.
On the hour mark, Sterling was played in but his miscontrol led to Conor Gallagher bobbling the ball into the path of Palmer, who slid the ball across the six-yard box into the path of Jackson who tapped it into the net. There was some initial confusion about whether the goal had even been given by referee Andy Madley, but eventually the players understood and the celebrations ensued.
It's a much-needed boost for the Blues, who have been inconsistent in recent weeks under Pochettino. Fantastic results like a 4-1 win over bitter rivals Tottenham and a 4-4 draw against treble-winning Manchester City are the two standouts but losses to Newcastle United, Manchester United and Everton have threatened to see an end to the Argentine's era before it's really even gotten underway.
