Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing FC Copenhagen wonderkid Roony Bardghji. The 18-year-old is one of the most in-demand attackers in Europe and a number of clubs are said to be keeping tabs.
Bardghji, who made his professional debut for the Danish champions in 2021, has scored 15 goals in 66 appearances. This season has been his best one to date, by some distance, with him scoring 11 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions.
Earlier this month, the teenager scored the dramatic winner against Manchester United to pile the pressure on Erik ten Hag and record a famous win for Copenhagen. Bardghj has also netted seven league goals to help Jacob Neestrup's men climb to the top of the table.
Football Manager enthusiasts will be familiar with Bardghji's quality. The 2005-born winger has been viewed as a wonderkid on the simulation video game for the last couple of years and was the second most signed player in week two of the 2024 edition of the game — behind Boca Juniors' Valentin Barco, who is wanted by Manchester City.
Bardghji perhaps won't be at the top of Mauricio Pochettino's January wishlist. Chelsea are blessed with a variety of options out wide with Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling current first choice options at Stamford Bridge.
However, the transfer strategy implemented in west London has seen numerous wonderkids signed with an eye for the future. Away from the first-team reinforcements, Chelsea have signed: Lesley Ugochukwu, Deivid Washington, Diego Moreira, Kendry Paez, Malo Gusto and Andrey Santos.
