Chelsea spent the most on player agent fees over the period between February 1, 2023 and February 1, 2024.
Despite the Blues' lowly position in the Premier League, owner Todd Boehly splashed the cash in the summer transfer window. Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo was the major arrival this season with Chelsea spending £115m on the Ecuadorian after becoming embroiled in a bidding war with Liverpool.
Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku and Axel Disasi were also brought in for big money but it was the addition of Cole Palmer from Manchester City that made the biggest impact. The winger has 19 goals to his name for Chelsea in all competitions and cost a relatively inexpensive sum of £42.5m.
With all the transactions taken into account for the Blues, the FA has confirmed they spent £75.1m on agent and transaction fees. This is almost a whopping £15m more than second-place City who spent £60.6m.
Boehly has forked out considerably more on these fees than his London rivals. Arsenal, who are battling for a Premier League and Champions League double, spent £24.7m while Ange Postecoglou's first season at Tottenham Hotspur saw his club spend just £19.7m.
Such figures underline why manager Mauricio Pochettino is considered to be in a fragile position as we head towards the end of the season. The Blues reached the Carabao Cup final but are way off the pace in the Premier League where they look set to miss out on European football once again next season.
