Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has opened up about the squad's mentality after the dramatic 4-4 draw against Manchester City, and how Cole Palmer's arrival at Stamford Bridge has given them a much-needed boost.
The Ecuadorian international joined the Blues in August for a record-breaking fee of £115m from Premier League rivals Brighton after a lengthy transfer saga between Chelsea and Liverpool, who were both looking to make the star a key part of their midfield rebuild project.
Since then, he's become an integral piece of manager Mauricio Pochettino's midfield trio of him, Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher which has dominated over midfields in their recent matches, including against London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham. However, there could be another addition to that trio after the emergence of Palmer has seen the youngster hailed by his teammates for his quality performances since joining the Blues.
Having arrived on deadline day for £42.5m, the 21-year-old would be forgiven for taking his time to adjust to a new city, a new club, new teammates after 15 years in the Manchester City system. Instead, Palmer has taken to Stamford Bridge like a duck to water and has already netted four penalties over his last five matches on top of three assists in all competitions.
His natural winger position appears to be his most deadly, but his chance creation from deeper back towards the halfway line and further is what has really stood out. The youngster's ability to pick the ball up between the lines and work it forward with the likes of Caicedo has made the pair a nice duo on the right-hand-side alongside captain Reece James.
