Instead of agreeing a new contract with Gallagher, Chelsea are now believed to be considering the possibility of selling the England international.

There is a belief that the Blues will have to sanction sales before June 30 if they are to avoid falling foul of the Profit and Sustainability regulations.

As a graduate of Chelsea's s academy, Gallagher is one of the players who could be offloaded to generate pure profit and help improve the club's financial situation.
