Liverpool eased into the Europa League quarter-finals with a comprehensive thrashing of Sparta Prague on Thursday.
Cody Gakpo scored twice while Darwin Nunez, Bobby Clark, Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai also netted as the Reds strolled to a 6-1 triumph to win 11-2 on aggregate in their round of 16 tie against the Czech champions. The result means Jurgen Klopp’s men have reached the last eight of European competition for the sixth time under the German and remain in the hunt for an unprecedented trophy quadruple.
But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at Anfield.

Nunez gotta Nunez
Liverpool's blistering start of four goals inside the opening quarter-of-an-hour ended any lingering hopes Sparta had of making life difficult for the home side. But that didn't stop Nunez being, well, Nunez.
As Sparta launched one of their first attacks, the Uruguayan sprinted from the centre forward position to help out Andy Robertson quell the threat and put the ball out for a throw-in.
Nunez then turned to the Anfield crowd and waved his arms to get them involved, to which he gained the required response despite it being the 18th minute of the game with Liverpool already 9-1 up on aggregate. Life's never boring with the forward around, that's for sure.
