It was a real statement performance from Liverpool against Brentford. They did everything that you have to do when they went there.
Win the second balls, win the headers. It’s interesting that we’ve seen the two centre-halves, since the mix-up against Arsenal, they haven’t let a ball bounce. They’ve had to attack it and head the ball, and that’s what you’ve got to do against teams like Brentford.
You also have to stop the corners and free-kicks. Unfortunately they had too many free-kicks than you’d like, and Jurgen Klopp did comment on that afterwards. It was mad how Brentford had so many free-kicks, and so many silly free-kicks too. But we defended them well and we defended corners better than we had been doing recently, and that’s what you have to do.

We had to battle and it was really good to see them dig in. They battled like you have to in those games.
They defended really well against Brentford. Conor Bradley, I was really interested to see him move into that inverted role. It was the first time that it was noticeable.
He’s not just doing the right-back role, he’s coming inside and getting involved in those central areas. He had a good game, and it was a game he needed to play, to get back out there, and he probably did it for his dad. He had a super game, as did most of the players.
The downside is the injuries. We don’t know the extent yet, but let’s hope it’s not as bad as it first looked. Especially with Diogo Jota, because before he went off he was our best player.
