Jurgen Klopp expressed his optimism about Liverpool's future after he leaves Anfield.
Speaking before Liverpool's match against Sparta Prague, Klopp said: «Absolutely. The club is in a really good moment, in a really good place.» The German made it clear that while current achievements are important, it's the future he's more concerned about.
Earlier this year, Klopp announced he will depart Arsenal's Premier League title rivals at the end of the season, thus concluding his association with the Reds which started in 2015. Despite his announcement, Liverpool won the Carabao Cup and remain in contention for the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League titles.
He first informed the Anfield board about his decision back in November and plans to take a football hiatus post the summer of 2024. With his departure, other noteworthy members of Liverpool's coaching team including Pepijn Lijnders, Peter Krawietz and Vitor Matos will also exit, alongside sporting director Jorg Schmadtke who has already left the club following the January transfer window.
However, Klopp firmly believes in Liverpool's ability formore success without him. Angling towards future success, he stressed it would be the true measure of the club's standing, reports the Mirror.
Klopp added: «Of course, people will measure that only at the end of the season and have a look at what we really achieved, but that's not that important for the future. What we achieve is for now.
