Darwin Nunez Liverpool squad number change confirmed
Darwin Nunez will wear the number nine shirt for Liverpool ahead of the upcoming season.
The Reds' striker wore the number 27 during his debut campaign at the club, though has opted to make this iconic switch following Roberto Firmino's exit.
This comes after Luis Diaz followed a similar path by swapping No.23 for 7 after James Milner's eight-year Anfield career came to an end this summer.
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have filled the other popular options that were up for grabs at the club, selecting No.10 and No.8 respectively.

Supporters who have already purchased new 2023/24 home and away kits printed with the name ‘Darwin’ and the number ‘27’ will be personally reimbursed by Nunez with a like-for-like exchange for a ‘Darwin 9’ shirt.
It is worth noting this exchange only applies to all ‘Darwin 27’ 2023/24 kits purchased in official club retail outlets, via the official LFC online store or LFC Store app. Qualifying shirts or kit must be returned with proof of purchase by 11.59pm BST on Saturday August 19, 2023.
