Incoming Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl has shared details on the club's search for a new head coach ahead of Thomas Tuchel's departure at the end of the season.
The former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain boss was sacked last month with the Bundesliga serial champions knocked out of the German Cup and 10 points adrift of league-leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
While the German manager is set to see out the remainder of the campaign, attention has already shifted to who might step into his shoes at the Allianz Arena - with Leverkusen's rival coach Xabi Alonso thought to be the front-runner.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder could prove difficult to ensnare, however, with the Spaniard's other former club - Liverpool - also keen to tempt him away from his current side to replace Jurgen Klopp.
But Eberl, who was appointed to the role at the start of the month, stressed that the club were yet to focus in on a specific candidate in a bid to ensure their search is as comprehensive as possible.
'There is currently no plan A, B and C,' Eberl told BILD. 'We are screening the situation: what the squad looks like, what DNA the club has, what history.
'We think carefully: which trainers fit what we have? What this club radiates and wants to achieve?'
Alongside sporting director Christoph Freund, Eberl is thought to have drawn up a shortlist which includes a select group of coaches that the club are keen to target.
'There are names that are on a list,' Eberl continued. 'In the end, of course, there are certain framework conditions that you rightly ask again and again: what if it takes too long? What if it gets too expensive? Or if the candidate doesn't want to?
