Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has pledged his support towards defender Brian Onyango after being booed by fans at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday.
Mokwena handed goalkeeper Jody February his official debut since joining Sundowns from Cape Town Spurs in 2029 during the DStv Premiership match against Sekhukhune United.

The former AmaZulu FC goalkeeper replaced Denis Onyango in the first half after the latter was stretchered off the field due to a head injury.

Sundowns beat Sekhukhune 2-1 to maintain their position at the summit of the DStv Premiership, now needing only six points to clinch their seventh consecutive league title.
“We can never condone such behavior- it’s completely unacceptable. These guys are giving their best and football is a game of mistakes,” said Mokwena after the match against Sekhukhune United in Pretoria on Tuesday.

Even in their personal life.
“So, as human beings, why are we hated when we commit mistakes? I make more mistakes than Brian Onyango ever makes. I am so mistaken and it’s not even funny. But he knows, like all my players know, that I love him, and I support him.
