Ever since the likes of Didier Drogba and Diego Costa, it's never felt like Chelsea have managed to secure themselves a true, out-and-out, goalscoring striker. There's been plenty of transfer window mistakes in the past — Alexandre Pato, Alvaro Morata and Fernando Torres just to name a few.
But under Todd Boehly's guidance, manager Mauricio Pochettino has managed to find himself some summer signings that are actually coming up good. The arrival of Manchester City youngster Cole Palmer has seen nothing but positivity on the pitch, with the 21-year-old already having scored twice from the penalty spot for the Blues in successive games.
Nicolas Jackson has also hit the ground running well, having scored twice in his eight league appearances. Those who Pochettino inherited from the bloated squad of last season have also seen a dramatic turnaround in form when compared to the last campaign. Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk are both playing the best they have at Chelsea so far, with the duo directly involved in seven of Chelsea's 13 league goals already this season.
One star who hasn't had the same effect however has been Christopher Nkunku. The 25-year-old was seen as the main attacking force in Pochettino's revamped Chelsea side before a knee injury in pre-season dramatically cut those hopes short. Since then though, the Blues boss has highlighted how he'll be taking a look in the future at how he can bring in more attackers in order to combine with the French international once he returns from injury in the new year.
