Newcastle United could be without Joelinton for Sunday's Premier League meeting with Liverpool at St James' Park.
The Brazilian, who has experienced a drastic change of fortunes at Newcastle since being moved from the final third to central midfield, was forced off after 57 minutes of the Magpies' 1-0 defeat by Manchester City on Saturday evening.
Joelinton only missed six Premier League games for Eddie Howe's side last term, three of which were due to yellow card suspensions, and would be a major loss for the Toon Army should he be set for a spell on the sidelines.
It remains to be seen whether or not the 27-year-old will have recovered in time for this weekend's clash with Liverpool, though Howe did not give much encouragement of this being the case when speaking after Saturday's game at the Etihad Stadium. He said: "I know what you know, he didn’t move well when he came off the pitch. Fingers crossed he’s okay."
