England fans have urged Gareth Southgate to be bold and fast track Ipswich Town left-back Leif Davis in the squad for Euro 2024, should Luke Shaw not be fit in time.
The Manchester United full-back faces a race against time to be fit for the Euros, as he battles to get over his thigh injury and then get enough minutes for his club under his belt to warrant making the squad.
The 28-year-old has long been Southgate's first choice left-back but with Ben Chilwell, Kieran Trippier and Joe Gomez available as backups, Southgate may not want to take a gamble unless Shaw can prove his fitness.
But some Three Lions supporters on social media believe Davis should be on Southgate's radar following an outstanding season for Ipswich.
The 24-year-old has two goals and an astonishing 19 assists for Ipswich in the Championship this season and started all his 37 league appearances.
While Shaw and Chilwell have been beset by injuries this season, Davis has only missed three games in the Championship.
He sat out the defeat against Southampton in September with an ankle injury and was not in the squad for the draws against QPR and Stoke on December 29 and January 1.
And his performances have got fans convinced he would be the ideal left-back for Southgate.

The feeling was echoed by several other users, with one writing: 'Leif Davis. Proper player. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the England conversation soon.'
Another added: 'Leif Davis should be in the England team or at least be given a chance', with a third suggesting: 'Leif Davis as England's left back if Luke Shaw's
