Mount has been restricted to just 12 appearances this term, though, with his last outing coming against Luton Town in the Premier League in the middle of November.
The 25-year-old has had three separate injuries during his short time at Man United, but he has recently returned to full first-team training at Old Trafford.
There have been suggestions that Mount could be in the squad for Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final with Liverpool, having made excellent progress in his recovery.
Ten Hag is «convinced» that Mount will prove himself at Man United after a slow start, insisting that the attacker can be «a very good player» for the club.
«I'm convinced he will be,» Ten Hag told reporters during his press conference. «He didn't have a chance to prove this point, but he will be a very good player for Manchester United.
»It's really unfortunate, it's really disappointing for him but also for us when you have such a class player in your middle, and you can't play him.
«He had three injuries as we all know, so he didn't any time get in a rhythm. But I'm sure when he is fit and he plays he will get into that rhythm and he will contribute to a successful Manchester United, I'm sure.»
Mount scored 33 goals and registered 37 assists in 195 appearances for Chelsea before making the move to Man United last year.
