According to Fabrice Hawkins, Paris Sant-Germain have frozen contract talks with Ethan Mbappé (17) after his brother, Kylian Mbappé (25), announced that he will leave the French capital club at the end of his contract on a free transfer. This puts the French U16 international’s future in doubt ahead of the summer transfer window.
Mbappé made his professional debut for PSG this season. The 17-year-old was a debutant during PSG’s victory against Metz in December. He has also made two appearances in their run to the Coupe de France final. With his first senior minutes afforded to him at such a young age, all signs pointed towards Mbappé signing a professional contract with the club. However, with Kylian Mbappé expected to join Real Madrid, Les Parisiens have stopped contract talks with the France captain’s younger brother.
The French midfielder’s contract situation has alerted clubs around Europe. Several clubs in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga are all monitoring the PSG midfielder’s situation to see how it develops before making a potential move, Hawkins reports.
With Kylian expected to join Real Madrid, people wouldn’t have been surprised if Ethan would have followed his brother in moving to the Spanish capital. According to Fabrice Hawkins, despite his brother’s pending move to Spain, if the 17-year-old is to follow suit, it looks unlikely he will join him at Real Madrid.
