Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed first team training on Thursday but Sean Dyche is hopeful he will be available for Everton’s trip to Chelsea.
The striker, who has scored in each of the club’s last two games, sat out work at Goodison Park due to a concern over a hamstring issue. Dyche said the break was because staff were “being ultra careful”.
The Blues boss added that James Garner had also picked up a “knock” this week but stressed there was a belief that, at this stage, both players should be available for the trip to Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Dyche, speaking at his pre-Chelsea press conference on Thursday afternoon, shared further good news on the fitness front. He said Arnaut Danjuma could be available as early as the match in west London. The return of the winger, out since suffering an ankle injury in January, would represent a significant boost for Dyche as he searches to improve his attacking threat heading into the final games of the season.
The Blues boss said the 27-year-old, on loan from Spanish club Villarreal, would undergo further assessment on Friday leading into the weekend’s preparations. In an additional boost, Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye have returned to work with the squad.
The central midfielders were absent from the 1-0 home win over Burnley on Saturday. Dyche said Onana had overcome the issues that ruled him out of that game while Gueye has returned to action having missed the previous game due to the birth of a child.
