The Everton players are back in for pre-season as they embark on another year in the Premier League. Two players that will not be involved at Goodison Park this season are Ellis Simms and Ishe Samuels-Smith. Coventry City have sealed a deal for the former that could be worth £8m to the Blues, while teenager Samuels-Smith has signed for Chelsea.

There is a sense of inevitability surrounding both exits, however, with Sean Dyche sure to be keen on strengthening his ranks in order to avoid another battle against relegation. On that front, Everton closing in on a deal for former Aston Villa star Ashley Young . The 38-year-old is a free agent after leaving Villa Park and is destined to become Sean Dyche's first signing as Toffees boss with a medical booked for Tuesday.

Reports also broke yesterday suggested Almeria are 'surprised' that Everton are only offering a loan-to-buy deal for striker El Bilal Toure. It's claimed that the Toffees have proposed a loan fee then full payment in four instalments for Toure, while Atalanta will bid after receiving cash for Rasmus Hojlund.
