Aston Villa face the incredible possibility of pulling level with Liverpool on points atop the Premier League table as they travel to Goodison Park to meet Everton on Sunday.
Villa has lost just four times all year in league play, and just once since the 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in early November. They are scoring goals in bunches, putting three past Burnley last time out to follow their pair in defeat to Man United.
They will also know that Man City and Arsenal lurk around the title race as well, and any slip could see them fall behind irreparably as they battle richer clubs. Even a top-four finish would be sensational for the club, but the margins are incredibly thin in that race as well.
Everton are not your typical relegation-threatened opponents, sitting 17th in the table largely thanks to their 10-point deduction, but they have slumped to three straight defeats in the absence of injured Abdoulaye Doucoure. Not being part of the Mali international plans for AFCON, Doucoure is potentially set to return for Everton in this match, boosting their prospects for the second half of the campaign.

While Everton gets the big boost of Abdoulaye Doucoure's likely return, they will be without two key players for this match as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Idrissa Gueye are both suspended.
The Toffees have struggled mightily to finish chances this year. Even as Villa's defence has slumped in recent matches, without a clean sheet since the two impressive 1-0 wins over Man City and Arsenal back in early December, they will find it hard to get past Emi Martinez, at least not enough to keep up with Villa's red hot front line.
