United are yet to decide whether to keep Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans beyond this season.
Varane, 30, and Evans, 36, are both out of contract in the summer and United declined to trigger the one-year option in Varane's deal as he would have remained on the same salary.
The World Cup winner is expected to be recalled for this weekend's Premier League match at Aston Villa, where United manager Erik ten Hag could start Varane and Harry Maguire together for the first time in a league fixture.
