Italian football juggernauts to play in Perth this year as state’s latest major event win revealed
Italian football will be coming to Perth later this year, with AC Milan and AS Roma to pack out Optus Stadium.
Foxsports.com.au has confirmed a report from The Sunday Times that the Italian football juggernauts will face off in one night match at Optus Stadium at the start of winter.
The West Australian government is expected to make the announcement on Wednesday.

AC Milan currently sits in the top four in Serie A - Italian football’s top-tier league and recently progressed to the next stage of Europa League knockouts.
AS Roma has won four of its last five matches and has been in resurgent form since sacking coach Jose Mourinho.
The side has been scoring virtually at will under Daniele De Rossi, setting the stage for an exciting first leg of their Europa League last 16 tie with Brighton at Stadio Olimpico.
News of the event comes shortly after the WWE hosted an Elimination Chamber event in front of around 50,000 fans at the venue, while in November last year band Coldplay saw over 130,000 fans at the ground across two nights.
Both events saw significant numbers of out-of-state ticketholders flood into Perth.
Milan boasts stars Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic among others, with an incredible hall of fame lineup headlined by Paolo Maldini.
Roma has a storied history, having had players such as Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi.
AC Milan are seven-time European champions and won Serie A in 2022.
