"Tchouameni's words? Yes, Spaniards will see mi a bit more"
Kylian Mbappe said on Monday that the poor play during last Saturday's France-Germany friendly "has nothing to do" with his "personal situation", due to the fact that he has been playing less for PSG of late.
He acknowledged that they played "badly" against Germany, as the 0-2 final score showed, but stressed that they want to "show a reaction" on Tuesday. "We must be aware that what we did was not enough," he said.
He also downplayed the words of his national team-mate Tchouameni (Real Madrid) that Spanish fans will see him play more often, which have been understood as an unintentional announcement of his move to Madrid. The interview was deleted by 'Telefoot' shortly afterwards.
According to Mbappe, his compatriot was referring to the Champions League matches that pitted his club PSG against Real Sociedad and will do so against Barcelona in April. "Well, I played Real Sociedad, we play Barcelona in quarter finals and if we go through, maybe Atletico in semis... So yes, Spaniards will see me a bit more," he said.
