ISIS threatens Real Madrid vs Man City terrorist attack with Spanish police on high alert

Spanish police have confirmed they are on high alert after ISIS issued a stark warning to Champions League quarter-finalists ahead of Real Madrid's clash against Manchester City on Tuesday evening.

In the build-up to Tuesday's high-stakes match between Real and Man City in the Spanish capital, authorities are on edge following the terrorist group's threat. Islamic State made its intentions known on Monday, targeting all four stadiums set to host this week's quarter-final games, including Real Madrid's iconic Santiago Bernabeu and Arsenal's Emirates Stadium. Atletico Madrid are also set to play in the Spanish capital on Wednesday, hosting Borussia Dortmund at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Al Azaim Foundation, a media outlet frequently used by ISIS to disseminate its messages, released a disturbing poster with the message 'Kill them all' and listing the names of the four venues hosting Champions League matches. This has led to heightened security measures in Madrid.

Spanish officials have assured that they are fully prepared for any potential threats, stating: "In terms of preventing the terrorist threat, the State Security Forces and Bodies have activated all their early warning and protection systems, as well as all their response mechanisms ready and willing."

In anticipation of the events, over 2,000 members from the National Police and Civil Guard will be deployed in Madrid for extensive surveillance operations over the next 24 hours. Paris Saint-Germain will welcome Borussia Dortmund in Paris in the fourth quarter-final tie on Wednesday.
