Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has questioned Marcus Rashford's future at Old Trafford, suggesting it may be in his best interests to leave the club and start afresh elsewhere.
After being left out of the starting line-up for last Thursday's 4-3 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Rashford was recalled by Erik ten Hag for Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool, replacing Antony. However, his afternoon was cut short after being forced off through injury after 66 minutes, and he did little to justify his recall.
After becoming the first United player in 10 years to score 30 goals in a single campaign last season, Rashford has plundered just eight goals in 38 appearances so far this term. He, like several of his teammates, has regressed at an alarming rate.

The versatile forward, who is in danger of missing out on a spot in the England squad for this summer's European Championship, has been linked with a move to French side Paris Saint-Germain once again in recent weeks. They held talks with Rashford's brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, in August 2021.
Amid Rashford's struggles for form this season, former United captain Rooney wonders if he would benefit from leaving M16 and testing himself elsewhere for the first time in his career.
