Fabio Carvalho reveals that he didn't speak to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp before joining RB Leipzig on loan and will have to learn as he goes along
Fabio Carvalho has revealed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp didn't give him any advice ahead of his loan move to RB Leipzig.
Carvalho is eager to make an impact during his spell at the German club and says that it is better for him to find things out for himself.
As reported by The Athletic, Carvalho said: 'I don't really speak to him, so he didn't give me any advice.
'I have to just learn as I go and I don't think that's a bad thing. I feel like that's better anyway, for me to mature as a person and as a player.'
Carvalho headed to RB Leipzig at the end of June, with Dominik Szoboszlai joining Liverpool shortly afterwards.
After signing from Fulham last year, Carvalho made 21 appearances during his first season at Liverpool and scored three goals.
Carvalho notably netted a dramatic late winner against Newcastle at Anfield.
The Portugal Under-21 international is a versatile player who can operate in midfield or out wide and his versatility could prove useful for Leipzig this season.
As well as Carvalho, there have been a host of new arrivals at Leipzig this summer, including Lois Openda, Benjamin Sesko, Christoph Baumgartner, Nicolas Seiwald and El Chadille Bitshiabu, while Xavi Simons has joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
Carvalho made four appearances in the Champions League last season and the 20-year-old is set to get another opportunity to play in the competition with Leipzig this campaign.
