One former Manchester United striker has taken a different career path since hanging up his boots and now works as a fashion stylist for a Chelsea flop.
Footballers have regularly entered the world of coaching and management after retiring but others have also raised eyebrows after taking bizarre and quirky turns.
Occasionally, however, some have left supporters stunned after disappearing briefly from the public eye and reemerging in a role not typically taken up by athletes.
One such example is ex-United forward David Bellion.
Bellion, who joined United from Sunderland in 2003, has been able to toe an unusual line between football and fashion in his job as a stylist for players.
After retiring in 2016 he pivoted to the fashion industry and advises sportspeople.
Indeed, he now styles players including Tiemoue Bakayoko, who endured a nightmare spell at Chelsea after joining from Monaco in a big-money move in 2017.
Bellion previously revealed that his interest in fashion dates back to his United spell.
'When I got out of training, I went to stores just to look at the clothes. Sometimes I didn't buy anything,' he told French GQ.
'I am a great romantic and I embrace it perfectly in my way of seeing things, of speaking to people. I have a bit of a childish side.
'I don't have a very developed competitive spirit, more of an obsession with beauty.'
Bellion had been snapped up by Sir Alex Ferguson in a deal worth just £3million.
He scored eight goals and laid on three assists in his 40 appearances at Old Trafford and went on to play for West Ham, Nice, Bordeaux and Red Star Paris.
