Retired Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mashego has revealed a surprise revelation about his relationship with Kaizer Chiefs.
Amakhosi supporters will not have too many fond memories of 'Mahoota' as the striker tormented the Chiefs nearly every time he went toe-to-toe with the Glamour Boys.

Mashego scored a brace for Pirates in his Soweto Derby when Pirates defeated Chiefs 2-1 in 2009.
Mashego also sent Chiefs crashing out of the MTN8 semi-final in 2010, scoring the crucial winner as Pirates won the second leg 1-0 and securing a spot in the final with a 2-1 aggregate over their rivals.
Speaking on Marawa Sports World, Mashego revealed that he had actually grown up as a Chiefs supporter.
"I grew up supporting cheats by the way," Mashego said.
"Well, they are telling me now apparently I used to cry when Chiefs lost and whatnot, and obviously, I grew up and I wanted to play football and play for Kaizer Chiefs.
"I don't think they liked me. I don't think they wanted me.
"I've never been on trial and I've never had contact with any of the Chiefs guys (management).

"My agent Tim Sukazi never told me about Chiefs, so I always looked at Chiefs and I was like 'these guys are playing for Chiefs, but I am better than these guys, like let me show them,' and then I go and score.
"Football is my life, I had to play like that I had to play to score and unfortunately Chiefs was just there all the time."
