Former Tottenham and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has claimed Ange Postecoglou has 'changed the face' of Spurs after their lightning start to the season under the Australian.
Spurs currently sit at the top of the Premier League following their 1-0 win over Luton Town on Saturday afternoon. A second-half goal from Mickey van de Ven was enough to give them the three points which put them top, and bitter rivals Arsenal's win over title rivals Manchester City meant the pair now sit level on points, with Spurs only ahead via goal difference.
The summer signings of James Maddison and Van de Ven combined for the goal, truly highlighting just how influential Postecoglou's assignment has been over the past few months. With only a penalty shootout loss to Fulham in the second round of the Carabao Cup to blemish the record so far, the Australian and his men have silenced all the critics who wrote them off after the sale of talisman striker Harry Kane just before the start of the season.
It's even seen some question whether they can now push on for the title, with the back-and-forth nature of their 2-2 draw with Arsenal back in September indicating to some that the title race will go down to the wire. A few have even started to claim the side will win the whole thing, due to the fact there's no pressure on them.
However, many will see that as people getting ahead of themselves, and in any case simply want to see Spurs continue playing good football for as long as they can.
